In 1959 15 year old Bobby Vee was just getting started as a singer with his band in Fargo, North Dakota.  The Winter Dance Party Tour starring Buddy Holly, JP Richardson (The Big Bopper), Richie Valens was due to perform in Moorhead Minnesota. The tragic news broke that day that Buddy, JP, and Richie along with 20 year old pilot Roger Peterson crashed in an Iowa cornfield.  They were all killed. After much reflection and community involvement it was decided that the show would go on.  The promoters heard about a  young Bobby Vee and invited him to perform.  According to everyone there the reaction to Bobby from the young fans in the crowd was unprecedented.  The rest is history.  Bobby went on to become one of the biggest stars in the world.  His first worldwide megahit was "Devil Or Angel" and he went on to hit gold with "Rubberball", "Take Good Care Of My Baby", "The Night Has A Thousand Eye's", "Come Back When You Grow Up", and more.  In 1963 alone Bobby Vee had seven top ten hits in England.  Bobby currently travels and performs with his three son's on bass, drums, and guitar and three other musicians.
