Cannibal & The Headhunters 2006
Robert Zapata with the Killer Jerry Lee Lewis
There are very few humans on planet Earth who are not familiar with the refrain from Land Of A Thousand dances...Na Na Na Na!  Formed in the mid 1960s in East L..A. by Frankie "Cannibal" Garcia and the Jaramillo brothers, Joe and Robert, the band was one of several including Tierra, Malo, Thee Midnighters, and War who all originated the famous east L.A.sound.  Wilson Pickett also had a hit with the song but it has become the signature song of Cannibal & The Headhunters. After many years and personnel changes and the sad early death of Frankie the band was led for a decade by Eddie Sorano and Robert Zapata. Eddie's unfortunate death several years ago in a freak biking accident left Robert as the sole longtime touring member of Cannibal & the Headhunters. They do a mixture of classic R&B, Motown and of course the signature song..."Land Of A Thousand dances!
