John Muller's "The Winter Dance Party"
On February 3, 1959, Buddy Holly, JP Richardson AKA The Big Bopper, and Richie Valens
were all on a bus tour as the "Winter Dance Party". Following a show they all got on a small chartered plan to fly to their next stop, Fargo ND. The plan was to get to the next hotel and finally sleep in a bed and not on the bus. The pilot was a 21 year old local named Roger Peterson! Question: what were they @#$# thinking? Sure enough the plane crashed right after takeoff killing all four young men and the rest is history. The crash was immortalized by Don McClean in the 1972 song, "American Pie" (The Day The Music Died).
John Mueller, JP Richardson Jr., and Ray Anthony have reverently and respecfully put together a recreation of the "Winter Dance party" show. They have the look, the sound, the authentic instruments and most importantly they have the love of the music, and it shows when you hear and see them. In JP Richardson's case, you even have the DNA because JP, AKA The Big Bopper Jr. is the original Big Boppers son,. JP was born a few months after his father died.
This show is one of the best sellers and audience magnets currently touring. Priced and delivered at well below what a buyer would pay for even a mid level national act.
