Willie Tyler & Lester

Willie Tyler and Lester have been guests on so many well known television shows that there is no accurate count.  Among these, The Tonight Show, Merv Griffen, Today and Good Morning America are Lesters favorites.  He also liked The Statler Brothers, Pacific Blue, Prime Time Country, numerous ABC weekend Specials and the VH1 special Stand Up Spotlight!

Willie first became interested in ventriliquism when one night he saw the legendary Paul Winchell and his wooden sidekick Jerry Mahoney on TV.  At age ten Willie took a correspondence course in ventriliquism and proceeded to make Lester who was crafted in a suburban area knows as (strange-but-true!) Gross Point "Woods" Michigan.  They were soon doing shows for friends and at school variety shows.

Lesters break came years later when Paul Winchell invited Willie & Lester to appear with him on television.  The ret is history and Willie Tyler and Lester have gone on to take their rightful place in the hearts of America.  The have worked with greats like Diana Ross, Frank Sinatra, Lou Rawls, Jay Leno, Aretha Franklin, David Lettermen, Stevie Wonder, and on.  They are favorites in Las Vegas, comedy clubs and venues around the world.

The act is timeless and when asked how long they have been performing, you can bet Lester will say... "Saw me open and count my rings".
