Mel McDaniel was born and raised in Oklahoma and first dreamed of being an entertainer when he saw Elvis Presley on Television. Mel moved to Nashville in the 1970s when he was a young man and made history. He has written many many great country , country rock, and country blues based songs that were huge hits for both himself and for the many other artists who have recorded and covered his songs. Mel is a lifetime member of the Grand Ole Opry and appears there often. When Mel and his great band Oklahoma Wind go into his classic list that include smash hits like "Lousiana Saturday Night", "Stand Up" (have you ever been there), "Baby's Got her Blue Jeans On", "Take me To the Country" , and more they bring the house down.
