Urban Cowboy, the 1980 hit movie starring John Travolta and Debra Winger made a household name of Gilleys, a sprawling dance bar in Houston, Texas and it's signature mechanical bull. Now, Urban Cowboy comes to the road as a Broadway Musical featuring world famous songs such as "Could I Have this Dance For The Rest Of My Life', and "Looking For Love In All the Wrong Places". Urban Cowboy the musical is the story of Bud, a new breed of cowboy who's turning heads and looking for love in the biggest honkytonk in the world. His whirlwind romance to Sissy and the subsequent troubles the young newlyweds encounter are played out against a gritty landscape of oil fields, trailer parks and a sawdust covered dance floor where night comes alive in a sea of booze, brawls, babes, and a foot stomping band.
Originally appearing at the Brookhurst Theater on Broadway in 2003 this revised version includes hit songs from Clint Black, Travis Tritt, Brooks & Dunn, Toby Keith, The Dixie Chicks, Willie Nelson, Johnny Paycheck, Lee Ann Womack, Anne Murray, Mickey Gilley, Garth Brooks, Francine Reed, Johnny Lee, Charlie Daniels, & Waylon Jennings, are featured.
